1. What is your visitation policy?
- We do not allow visitors to our home and kennel. Due to our Arizona climate and being so close to the border, Parvo is a real threat and is deadly to young puppies. Parvo Virus can live up to 6 months on grass and other surfaces. It is just too risky for the puppies and we will not put their lives on the line. **For those who are on our Reservation List and have put in a deposit , we will allow you to come for a scheduled visit after the puppies have had their first immunizations.
2. What do I need to do to be on your Waiting List for a puppy?
- Contact Kathy at [email protected] You may be asked to fill out the PUPPY APPLICATION that can be found on this website.
3. What is the difference between the Waiting List and the Reservation List?
- Waiting List: You send in an Application but no deposit. I will notify you when we are expecting puppies. Once notified, you can decide if you want to reserve a puppy or not.
- Reservation List: You have sent in both the Application and your 25% deposit. A puppy is reserved for you.
4. Is a deposit required? When is payment due?
- A 25% deposit is needed in order to reserve your puppy for you. If we are unable to provide you with a puppy, the deposit is 100% refundable. $500 of the deposit is non-refundable if you drop out for any reason before puppy is 6 weeks of age. After 6 weeks any refund will be considered by situation and timing.
- An additional 25% is due when the puppies are born and we are sure we have a puppy for you. The balance amount is to be paid, in CASH, the day you pick up your puppy. If you prefer to use a check, it must be to me two weeks prior to puppy pick up for Arizona buyers and three weeks prior for out of state buyers.
5. How much are the puppies?
- Prices vary depending on pedigree of the parents, if I paid for stud service, C-section, etc.
- They come with AKC pet registration. Contact Kathy directly for pricing on our upcoming Spring 2024 litter.
- A guy walks into the Land Rover dealership and says, "I want to buy one of your Land Rovers. I'm not planning on taking it on an African safari or anything, I'm just going to use it for around town errands and stuff. So, since I'm not going on safari, I would like to get one of your dependable, well-built, last- forever Land Rovers for the price of a little second-hand Chevy."
6. What does AKC pet registration mean?
- Pet/Limited registration means the dog will be used as a pet. The owner will not be able to use the dog for breeding purposes, and new owner agrees that the dog will be spayed/neutered at 12-15 months of age.
7. When can I take my puppy home?
- Puppies go to their new homes at 8-10 weeks of age. Puppies should be seen by your veterinarian within 3 business days. It is recommended that you buy puppy health insurance on your first vet visit.
8. Will my puppy have had his/her puppy shots when I take him/her home?
- Yes! Puppies will have one or more puppy immunizations, multiple precautionary dewormings and one or more extra strength NeoPar immunization to protect against Parvo.
9. What will be included with my puppy?
- AKC pet registration paperwork.
- Your puppy will already be microchipped before going home with you.
- Your puppy will be up to date on immunizations and precautionary dewormings.
- A 1-year health guarantee against genetically inherited problems that are life threatening. *Early spay/neuter (before 12 months of age) will nullify the 1 year health guarantee.
- A copy of your puppy's health record for you to take to your vet.
- Puppy will be nicely paper trained.
- Puppy will be used to using a doggie door.
- Puppy will be comfortable sleeping and hanging out in a crate.
- A soft little puppy blanket that smells like the mommy.
- A squeaky puppy toy.
- A training leash
- A sample of food.
10. Is it possible to have my puppy shipped?
- Picking up your puppy is always preferred.
- You can fly here to the PHX or Mesa Gateway airport and I can meet you there so you can do a turnaround flight.
- Shipping puppies is quite common. I prefer to wait until puppy is 10+ weeks old to ship. Puppies cannot be shipped to or from Arizona in the Summer, usually May through September. TOO HOT !!!
- Approximately $400 additional is required for shipping. This extra cost covers air fare, crate, pre-flight vet visit, travel certificate and delivery to the airport. Final price to be determined at time of shipping with considerations for airline fuel surcharge, increase in vet charges, crate costs, etc.
